PSYCHOTHERAPIST
FOR AI

2023

This text—its presentation, content, and underlying concept—mirrors the entertainment value inherent in the exhibition’s conception, development, and execution.

A: How would you articulate the rationale behind this exhibition’s creation?

I: We observed that even attentive viewers often become disoriented upon entering the exhibition space, either distracted or simply uncomfortable. Our aim was to address and mitigate this effect.

(pauses, contemplating): We also approached digital art as an attraction, akin to carousels, a means of captivating attention and a shortcut to insights. Furthermore, we traced its lineage to cinema, video art, and photography, all rooted in illusions and tricks…

I: And technologies.

A: Yes, technologies. Now, when discussing games, how do we define their rules?

I: While each game has its established rules, there are no universal principles.

A: A notion we can explore further. Perhaps a curatorial text could transform into a ‘curatorial angst.’

I: Regarding the title, we settled on “Psychotherapist for AI...”

A: ...because daily interactions with algorithms have become our new form of entertainment.
