Il Gurn is a writer, independent curator, and producer based in London. His expansive interest is rooted in contemporary (modern) culture, touching upon themes such as aesthetics, mythology, layering of meanings, techno-utopianism, lexicology, modes of expression, belief systems, etc…
His latest endeavour, Orange Novel, is a vertiginous plunge into the complexities of language, veiled beneath a simple love triangle narrative. What lies beneath this surface are the metaphorical constructs that serve as mechanisms for reaching into strata of thought-provoking discoveries and hidden subsenses. With its amassed visual references, Orange Novel emerges as a poetic cartography of quotidian objects and actions, elevating the mundane to the subject of cult through a hedonistic lens of obsessive observation. The publication is forthcoming.
Il Gurn studied Philosophy at Baltic State University in St. Petersburg and Screenwriting at the Academy of Arts (FAMU) in Prague.
